The Trickster is an NPC in Wayfinder. Only ever seen inside the Lost Zones, the entity known only as the Trickster comes across as the Gloom's avatar of Chaos, coming and going in puffs of smoke and interested in naught but his own whimsy. While exploring a Lost Zone, the Wayfinder may encounter the Trickster in person, and he will always offer a harmless game of chance to play. He features numerous games in his repetoire, including a shell game, a wheel of fortune, and others, and he always offers prizes to the winner, including his signature currency, Trickster's Coins. No matter what, though, the games will always be purely random in nature.

However, when the Wayfinder explores a Lost Zone imbued with Chaos, the Trickster becomes more proactive and dangerous. His favorite trick is randomly spawning bombs that explode, as well as spawning fake loot drops when an enemy is defeated that also explode, and stuffing every treasure chest with even more bombs that spill out and promptly explode. Even then, even as bombs ring out throughout the Lost Zone to the sounds of laughter, the Wayfinder might still find the Trickster in person, and he will still offer them a go at a harmless game of chance.
