The Crucible is a lush and dangerous region of Evenor filled with ancient secrets. Initial descriptions of the area read as such:

The final battle begins in The Crucible. The Eldren have occupied a shattered region known as The Crucible - a city-sized machine built by The Architects, reclaimed by nature and lost to time. In search of a powerful secret at The Crucible’s center, the Eldren intend to finish the war their gods started, and pen the world a dark fate.

With multiple areas to explore and noted levels of verticality to the region, Wayfinders will be required to take advantage of a new traversal tool called the Hookshot to get around the Crucible. Also notable is that the mount can be used even in Lost Zones.

The Aegis Vault

For generations arcanists studied Beacons and Balefires, attempting to reverse engineer their purpose. The wonders left by the Architects were considered by many to be divine. Impossible to replicate. But even Arctech was built up brick by brick. Their earliest designs were incepted within a single facility, named for the Aegis who died for their cause.

Conditioning Facility

Schematics from the Archive point to this being a testing facility for Arcbound constructs. Though the records are difficult to decode, it appears earlier models did not integrate well with the Architects' conditioning programs.

Refurbished Archive

Preliminary scouting efforts suggest the Eldren have been in the Crucible for a number of years. Far before the Gloomfall. While the methods to power these facilities are likely lost to time, great effort has been afforded to resurrect them using refined godsblood.

Fusing Laboratory

While the overgrowth around this facility make its original purpose difficult to discern, Lord Halar's arcanists believe it may have been used in elemental experiments. Perhaps the Architects, too, studied the nature of this world.

The Shattered Foundry

Unlike the other Breaches, this structure appears to have been constructed by the Eldren to reach ruins deeper within. Even before the Fall, the Deep Eldren were known to use passages called Shadow Conduits to traverse great distances between their cities in mere moments. The knowledge to forge worlds between worlds from darkness and will was gifted by the Mother of Shadows before her exile at the Aegis War's end.
