Aturach the Deathless is the leader of the marauding Reavers of Frostmarch, the so-called "Reaver King" and "King of the Hollow Heart". Once, he was the honorable king of the noble savage Woodwen people, a collective of warriors and mystics who communed with the ancient powers and understood the primal myths. He allowed the Avar outpost of Deepwood Holt to build up and sought to coexist. When the Gloom came, the Heart of the Wood - "the sacred grove where mystics commune with the ancient powers" - was consumed. Aturach and his champions entered the Lost Zone, but they returned forsaking the old ways and embracing the Gloom; their corruption spread to the rest of the Woodwen, turning them into the feral, cruel and bloodthirsty Reavers. Now touched by the Gloom, and with his bear familiar Marrow, he conspires to corrupt the ancient powers of the world, seize control of the Beacons, and overrun the land with zombie-like spiritual hollows. He is the main antagonist of the Frostmarch arc of the main story.
