The Bloodbore is a boss in Wayfinder. The malicious elements of the Shrike Syndicate, aiming to accelerate the collection of godsblood - a volatile arcanic fuel - from the Deep, pressganged the Rook, the syndicate's quartermater and resident inventor, to create a machine that can more quickly harvest the resource. However, the Rook and Kestrel - the latter uncovered the Bloodbore's existence with help from the Wayfinder - both understood that digging too quickly and too recklessly could cause the godsblood to react violently and blow up Skylight, if not the entire Westreach. With the Rook not present to answer for his actions, Kestrel tasks the Wayfinder with shutting down the drilling machine before the Shrikes' mining operation truly begins in earnest.

Guide

Bloodbore is fought in a large circular cave arena, with the massive machine standing in the very center. Given its size and mechanical nature, the Bloodbore can only move very slowly, providing ample time to land hits on it. It however is outfit with optic emitters, firing frequent godsblood lasers that track the players for extended periods of time. The boss can also wind up for a seismic shockwave that deals high physical damage and knockback.

The difficulty of the fight comes from the fact that the Bloodbore occasionally ejects godsblood barrels from its 'thorax', which detonate upon taking a single hit (be it from a wayfinder or the Bloodbore itself), causing high contact damage and leaving a short-lived poison pool behind.

When it is brought to half health, the boss becomes invulnerable and jumps on the center wall of the arena, scattering a huge number of explosive barrels in a circular pattern. Then, it continues to sweep the players with lasers until it comes down again, instantly triggering all barrels in its influence, while also continuing to litter the arena with barrels. Therefore, players must alternate between damaging the boss and clearing the area to avoid being overwhelmed.
