The Argent Hand is a small collective of monks of the Order of the Silver Codex considered among the highest-ranked members of the brotherhood of the Aurelian monastery. Shrouded in mystery, they were nonetheless acknowledged as the inner circle and most personal confidants of the First Scribe, Aurelian's master. At the First Scribe's order, they held the last line of defense between the Archons purging the monastery and the First's sanctum in the Repository of Knowledge when the monastery fell to the Gloom. At least one of the members of the Hand was known as "Master Samar".

Decades after the Silver Codex's fall, the long-deceased members of the Argent Hand exist now as remnants - unconscious pseudo-Echo replicas of themselves endlessly reenacting their final moments before the monastery was consumed by the Gloom. As the Wayfinder explores deeper into the monastery, they come to blows with the monk collective while trying to solve the mystery of Aurelian's ultimate fate.
