When a jeweler said a harsh word about the witch-queen Akisheba in the morning, such was her power that he was transported to her palace to face judgement by nightfall. He bought his freedom with a necklace he wrought, presenting it to her on Eventide. Akisheba's was moved, but only granted him freedom during the day, imprisoning him again each night. He kept the agreement for ten years, at which point she declared him loyal, and multiplied his fortunes in honor of his virtue.
