Dialogue[edit]
I was hoping you would return. While you've been galivanting about the Highlands, culling Anchors of the Gloom, our Shrike infestation has taken a curious turn.
I was not aware of this, but after speaking with my contact on these matters, it seems there are actually two factions of Shrikes here in Lower Skylight. The Azure and the Rustred.
Good luck telling them apart. They seem reluctant to color code their gear.
According to my contact, the Rustred have had the Azure in something of a stranglehold for the past six months.
Most of the supplies taken by the Azure in Lower Skylight were supposed to be given to the Rustred as, eh, ‘protection money', they call it. Unfortunately for them, we took those supplies back.
This has caused an… unforeseen problem. Without tribute to pay the Rustreds, the Azure are now desperate. Their only recourse is to fight back.
Lacking the manpower to take on the Rustreds, those Azure fools have started drinking the Godsblood that powers Skylight's machinery.
They're drinking the fuel?
Fuel or not, Godsblood is arcane in nature. Among a torrent of hallucinations, it does provide them a surge of inhuman strength. It also promptly kills them shortly after consumption.
As much as I would love to see the Shrikes tear themselves apart… I cannot stand idly by whilst these berserkers destroy the city in process. Besides, Skylight needs that fuel for our machinery.
Head to Lower Skylight and recoup our Godsblood reserves before any others poison themselves. If you come across any Shrikes that have already drank it… take care of them the best you're able.
Nice work. Take that Godsblood and the supplies from earlier to my contact, Kestrel. We've come to an agreement. She'll keep it safe until we can move the supplies.
Hello again, love. Delivering the Godsblood, yeah? Just take it all downstairs. Oh! Almost forgot. I have a bit of gossip for you when you're done.
There you are. Okay, my lovely, answer me this. What rhymes with “badger palms” and ends in the destruction of Lower Skylight?
Uh... what?
Azure bombs!
Not your greatest pun, Kestrel.
Tough crowd. Moving on... A little bird sang me a song ‘bout a couple of Azure boys who were quite zealously lugging some bombs towards the Rustred hideout.
Now, I like a good fireworks show as much as the next girl, but I can't well and good run my tavern if the city ends up a crater, yeah? I trust you'll take care of it.
Be seeing you, love.
