Wormwood (quest) is a main quest in Wayfinder.

Description[edit]

Start

You must slay Hollow Ones in the Hollow Heart, and bring their remains to Graymourn.

Active

Graymourn believes she may be able to stop the Reaver King from stealing the primal power here by communing with the Heart of the Woods. She wants you to slay Hollow Ones and bring their remains to her so she can perform the ritual.

Clear

The Heart of the Woods was corrupted by an unknown, ancient power. You defeated Wormwood, a nexus for the power of the Heart—but Graymourn says that a greater challenge lies ahead. She believes the only way to defeat this threat is for her to imbue you with a sliver of Wormwood's essence.

I must commune with the Heart of the Woods. You must help me to forge a connection with it—to cut through the veil of shadows the Reavers have sown and to touch the pure Heart.

Once we make contact with the Heart, I will be able to serve as its vessel. I've done it before. It may give me the strength I need to cleanse the veins and to keep Aturach from stealing its power.

These... Hollow Ones. They've been tortured and transformed, but they are still tied to the Heart. There's no saving them, but their seeds, their sap—those are the keys I need.

Yes. Destroy these poor, lost children of the wilds, and bring me what remains. Then, I can commune with the Heart.

I've enjoyed the Reavers, hunting you with their flesh. But now the end has come. Beacon and Gloom. I claim them as my own. Wormwood rises.

Aah…

Such hunger... such rage... A vile seed planted in the Heart, an insatiable desire to consume both light and shadow.

Aturach is... a tool. A vessel for the power of this... Hollow Heart. My king came to the Heart seeking guidance and it broke him with its hunger and hatred, turned him into the Reaver King.

Who did this? Who planted this seed on the day that your Gloom fell? I feel the touch of something ancient, something powerful... It has swallowed the light within the Heart.

It doesn't matter. There's no time. I saw it! Wormwood rises. The veins of the earth, carrying corrupted blood both to and from the Heart. It will be the end of all things.

A Hollow One. The mightiest of them all. A conflux of the corrupted veins, the focus of its power. It is a projection of this Hollow Heart into our world.

You must find Wormwood and destroy it. You MUST find it. Follow… its traces. Go. Quickly. I… I can still feel the hunger, the hatred. I must rest.
